The Imaging Source Cameras on Tokyo Robot Exhibition

At the recent Tokyo Robot Exhibition, a group of researchers from a Japanese University presented a robot, which deploys The Imaging Source cameras as its vision system. The robot attracted tremendous attention with its complex and elaborate functions. It took six years to develop.
The robot recognizes objects with two cameras, manufactured by The Imaging Source. It "understands" acoustic commands from humans and executes them using its six on-board computers.
Japan has one of the oldest societies in the world and not many young people are willing to take on the job of nursing the old. This robot is designed to become a capable assistant in nursing homes.
