In connection with our esteemed Italian reseller Visionlink, The Imaging Source presented its broad industrial camera portfolio to visitors at SPS Italia, Italy's leading event for smart and sustainable industrial automation which took place from May 28 - 30.
Pivotal to the automation sector, image processing enhances accuracy and efficiency across manufacturing systems. REGG Inspection's high-speed inspection sorting demo uses up to 5 USB 3.0 industrial cameras producing 20 images per second. Processing, analysis, reporting and decision-making commands are executed via an industrial computer and PLC using IC Imaging Control SDK and DELPHI-based software.
The reduced hardware footprint and integration efficiency offered by embedded vision systems has made the technology increasingly of interest in the automation and quality control space. Embedded vision's real-time image analysis improves system responsiveness and operational reliability while reducing complexity and cost. The Imaging Source's demo for embedded vision featured a simple sorting task using the 6-channel carrier board paired with NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX SoM. The showcase highlighted the carrier board's multi-camera functionality, flexible camera trigger options, and I/O capabilities via a marble run with a color sorting task.
